Yes. Ray-Ban make prescription lenses for most of their sunglasses, and we glaze them into the frame you already own. A pair of genuine Ray-Ban Authentic lenses starts at £119 for clear, £139 for a sun tint, £189 polarised and £259 light-reactive, including the glazing and the coatings. The frame does not need to have come from us, and it does not matter how old it is. If it is sound, it can be glazed.
That answers the question most people arrive with. The rest of this page is the detail: which models, what it costs, what a prescription lens from Ray-Ban actually is, and the handful of things we cannot do.
Which Ray-Bans take prescription lenses
At the time of writing, 129 Ray-Ban sunglasses models. The classics are all there — Wayfarer RB2140, New Wayfarer RB2132, Aviator RB3025 and RB3026, Clubmaster RB3016, Round Metal RB3447, Hexagonal RB3548N, Erika RB4171, Justin RB4165 — along with the newer shapes like the Mega Wayfarer, Mega Clubmaster and the Bain Bridge RB3735. The full list is on our prescription lenses page, and every model on it links straight into the configurator with the frame already selected.
Your model number is printed inside one of the arms: RB, four digits, sometimes a letter, then the size. Something like RB2140 50. Type either part into the frame box on the Ray-Ban prescription lenses page and the right model comes up.

Those are complete prices: the lenses, the glazing to your frame, the UV protection, hard coat and anti-reflective. Fitting is the only extra, and only if you want it — fit the lenses into the frame yourself for nothing, or we do it for £12.50 and email you a Royal Mail label for the frame. Free UK delivery either way.
The configurator shows the exact figure for your frame and prescription before you pay, so there is no quote to wait for.
What you are actually getting
These are Ray-Ban Authentic lenses — made by Ray-Ban, etched with the Ray-Ban logo, in the same tints the frame was sold with. G-15 is the same green Ray-Ban have used since 1937. B-15 is the same brown. The polarised and gradient options are the ones on the shelf in a Ray-Ban shop. They are not a lab's approximation of a Ray-Ban tint.
Every order is dispensed by Benjamin Myers, a dispensing optician registered with the General Optical Council, who checks your prescription against the frame before the job is placed. If a lens cannot be made for your frame in your power, you are not shown it.
What we need from you
Your model number and size, the lens you want, and a prescription less than two years old. You can type the prescription in when you order or choose to send it on later and we will email you for it. Your optician has to give you a copy; it is yours.
The limits, so you know before you order
- Single vision only at the moment. Ray-Ban make varifocals and we will be adding them; email us if you need one now and we will quote you directly. Ray-Ban do not make bifocals for sun frames.
- Power range: spheres from −6.00 to +6.00 and cylinders to 4.00 on most frames. A flatter frame fitted with the thinner lens goes down to −12.00.
- Frames with a prescription insert or a one-piece shield are not on the Ray-Ban list; those are Oakley territory.
- Lenses cut to your prescription cannot be cancelled or returned once the job is placed; they are ordered against your exact frame. If they do not fit your frame, we fit them for you free of charge. Your Consumer Rights Act rights are unaffected, and if a job cannot be made you are refunded in full.
How long it takes
Seven to ten working days from the day the job is placed, which is as soon as your prescription checks out. If you are sending the frame in for fitting, the clock starts when it reaches us.
Why bother, rather than buying prescription sunglasses new?
Because a frame that fits is not easy to find, and you have already found one. A new pair of prescription Ray-Bans is the frame price plus the lens price; this is the lens price alone, in the frame you know. If the frame itself needs attention first — a loose hinge, a stretched arm — that is usually repairable too, through our Ray-Ban repair service.
