Oakley prescription lenses for the frame you already own
Genuine Oakley Authentic Prescription lenses, made by Oakley to your prescription and cut to your own frame. Tell us which Oakley you have and we will show you every lens Oakley can make for it in your power.
Which Oakley is it?
The model number is printed inside one arm and starts OO, OJ or OW. Oakley make one lens size per model, so the number on its own is enough — there is no size to find.
Colour does not change which lenses we can make. It only tells us which frame is on the job, so leave it blank if you cannot find it.
Your prescription
On an Oakley, the prescription decides which lenses can be made and what they cost, so we ask for it before showing you the lens choices.
We will take the order now and email you as soon as it lands, asking for your prescription and pupillary distance. Nothing is made until you send them and Benjamin has checked them against your frame.
Two things worth knowing. Your prescription needs to be less than two years old. And because we have not seen it yet, we cannot promise every lens on the next screen can be made in your power, or that the price will not move to Oakley’s stronger-prescription rate — if either turns out differently we will tell you before anything is ordered, and refund in full if you would rather not go ahead.
Pick each figure from the list, exactly as your prescription is written. Anything it does not show, leave as none.
How to read your prescription
OD and OS. Some prescriptions use the Latin. OD is your right eye, OS is your left.
Sphere, or SPH. Sometimes headed PWR or Power. The strength of the lens — a minus figure if you are short-sighted, a plus figure if you are long-sighted. If one eye needs no correction it will say plano, or 0.00.
Cylinder, or CYL. Only there if you have astigmatism, where one part of the eye needs more correction than the rest. Usually written with a minus sign, though some prescriptions use plus — pick whichever form yours is written in, they are equivalent and we will work from what you give us.
Axis. Belongs to the cylinder and never appears without one. A whole number from 1 to 180, often written after a ×. The box stays greyed out until you choose a cylinder, because on its own it would mean nothing.
If a figure on your prescription is not in the list, email ben@sunglassesuk.com before ordering.

Pupillary distance
The distance between the centres of your pupils, in millimetres. It is on most prescriptions, usually written as PD. Oakley will not cut a lens under 26mm per eye, so we need it before the job can go in.
Not sure of your PD?
Measure it in a mirror. Stand about 20cm away and hold a ruler flat against your brow. Close your right eye, line the zero up with the centre of your left pupil, then close your left eye and read the number at the centre of your right pupil. Do it twice and take the average.
Or start from a typical figure. Most adult men are around 64mm and most adult women around 62mm. A measured PD is always better — if you use a typical figure we record it as an estimate and check it against your frame before anything is cut.

Who fits them?

Made in Oakley’s own lab, laser-etched with the Oakley O and cut to your own frame. Plutonite blocks 100% of UVA and UVB without an added coating, and Oakley Stealth anti-reflective is on both surfaces.
What happens next
Genuine Oakley Authentic Prescription lenses for a frame you already own, made in Oakley's own lab and cut to your exact model. Single vision, in Prizm, polarised, clear or Transitions, from £229.
Tell the picker which Oakley you have and give it your prescription, and it shows only the lenses Oakley actually make for that frame in your power — so you cannot order a lens that cannot be made, and the price you see is the price you pay. Every job is dispensed by Benjamin Myers, a dispensing optician registered with the General Optical Council.
Radar EV Path, Jawbreaker and M2 Frame XL are one-piece shields. Oakley glaze those as a prescription insert that clips in behind the shield you already own — the picker handles that automatically.
What Oakley prescription lenses cost
Prices start at £229 and run to £409, depending on the lens you choose and how strong your prescription is. That covers the lenses, the glazing and the coatings — Plutonite blocks 100% of UVA and UVB by itself, and Oakley Stealth anti-reflective is on both surfaces as standard, not sold on top.
Fitting is the only extra. Fit the lenses into your frame yourself and there is nothing more to pay. Prefer us to do it, and it is £10, which includes a Royal Mail label to send your frame in on.
Why a stronger prescription costs more
Oakleys wrap. On a frame with a high base curve, anything over about ±2.00 to −3.00 has to be glazed on Oakley’s specialist high-prescription process, and Oakley charge more for it — £20 a pair. That is why this page asks for your prescription before it shows you any prices: so the figure you see is the figure you pay.
What you are buying
- Genuine Oakley Authentic Prescription lenses, made in Oakley’s own lab
- Laser-etched with the Oakley O, which is the only way to tell a real one
- Cut and glazed to the exact model of the frame you already own
- Ordering through Oakley keeps the warranty on your frame as well as the lenses
- Dispensed by a GOC-registered dispensing optician, not packed off a shelf
How it works
- Tell us which Oakley you have. The model number is printed inside one arm and starts OO, OJ or OW. There is no size to find — Oakley make one lens size per model.
- Give us your prescription. We check it against your frame before you pay, so you only ever see lenses Oakley can actually make in your power.
- Choose your lens from what is left.
- Fit the lenses yourself when they arrive, or send the frame in and we will fit them.
How long it takes
Seven to ten working days from the day the job goes in. If you are sending the frame to us, that clock starts when it reaches us.
Which Oakleys can take prescription lenses
Every model in the picker above. How strong a prescription each one takes varies with the shape of the frame, and the picker knows the published range for each — you are never shown a lens that cannot be made for your prescription in your frame.
These are single vision lenses. Oakley do make varifocals, including sport-specific varifocals for golf, road cycling and fishing, but we have not added them to this page yet — email us if you need one and we will quote you directly.
Radar EV Path, Jawbreaker and M2 Frame XL
These are one-piece shields, and Oakley do not make the shield itself to prescription. What they make is an insert: two small prescription lenses in a carrier that clips in behind the shield you already own. Single vision only, in Grey, Black Iridium or Clear, at one flat price. There is no Prizm insert and no Transitions insert.
If your frame has no prescription in it today
You do not need to have bought the frame from us, and it does not matter how old it is. If the frame is sound, it can be glazed. If it is not, we repair frames too.
Sunglasses UK has been repairing and reglazing eyewear since 1999. Everything is dispensed by a GOC-registered dispensing optician and an ABDO member.
