Genuine Persol replacement lenses, supplied as a matched pair for any Persol frame — current, discontinued or not listed on our site. Scratched, chipped, delaminated, or you simply want to move to polarised: we order the correct lenses for your exact model and colour from Luxottica, the maker of Persol. Sunglasses UK has been sourcing genuine designer replacement parts since 1999.
Genuine Persol lenses, not aftermarket copies
Every pair is ordered through our authorised Luxottica dealer account and arrives carrying the correct Persol markings, in the material and tint your frame was built with — crystal glass on most Persol sun models, polycarbonate on the lighter sport and folding styles. Full UV protection as standard. We do not supply aftermarket or third-party lenses.
What we need from you to order the right lenses
Persol lenses are cut to each specific frame, so we need three details before we can order. Add them to the Replacement Lens Details boxes above when you check out. All three are printed on the inside of the left temple arm:
- Model code — e.g. PO0649 or PO3210S. Always begins with PO.
- Colour code — e.g. 95/31 or 24/57. The code printed after the model number.
- Frame size — e.g. 52-18. The lens width and bridge width, printed with a small square between the two numbers.
If the printing has worn away, send us a photo and we will identify the model for you.
Which lens option should you choose?
- Non-polarised — the standard tinted lens your frame was originally supplied with.
- Non-polarised with mirror — a standard tint with a reflective mirror coating on the front surface.
- Polarised — cuts reflected glare from roads, water and snow. The best choice for driving and the coast.
- Polarised with graduated lens — polarised, with the tint fading from darker at the top to lighter at the bottom.
- Polarised with mirror — polarised glare reduction plus a mirrored front surface.
Not every tint exists for every model. If the option you choose was never made for your frame, we tell you what is available before anything is ordered.

Fitting your Persol lenses
Choose Customer to fit and we post the lenses to you to fit yourself or take to a local optician. Choose Sunglasses UK to fit and we fit them for you for an additional £10 — after ordering, wait for the Royal Mail returns label we email you, then send your frame in. Return postage is included.

Are these genuine Persol lenses?
Yes. Every lens is ordered directly through Luxottica, the manufacturer of Persol eyewear — never an aftermarket copy. Each pair carries the correct Persol etchings and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
What information do you need to order my lenses?
Three details, printed inside your frame’s left temple arm: the model code (e.g. OV5217S), the colour code (e.g. 1005/53) and the frame size, shown as two numbers such as 49-22. Add these to the Replacement Lens Details boxes when you order. If the engraving has worn away, email a photo of the inside arm to ben@sunglassesuk.com and we will identify it for you.
Can I fit the replacement lenses myself?
Yes. Choose “Customer to fit” and we will send the loose lenses for you, or a local optician, to fit. Prefer us to do it? Choose “Sunglasses UK to fit” (+£10) and we will email a Royal Mail returns label so you can send us the frame.
Does the frame need warming to fit the lenses?
Yes. Persol frames are acetate, so the front is warmed before a lens is seated — that lets the rim flex rather than split. If you would rather not do that yourself, choose “Sunglasses UK to fit” and our workshop will handle it.
How long do replacement lenses take to arrive?
Lenses are made to order and usually take 5–10 working days to arrive from Italy. If we hold your lenses in stock they are dispatched the next working day, and any Next Day Delivery you have paid for applies from the moment they reach us.
Do the lenses come as a pair?
Yes — you receive two lenses, both with the correct Persol etchings, plus a certificate of authenticity. Full UV protection is standard.
Which Persol models can you supply lenses for?
The entire range, including discontinued and unlisted frames. Gregory Peck OV5217S, O’Malley OV5183S, Sheldrake OV5036S, Cary Grant OV5413SU and Fairmont OV5219S have their own pages. For anything else, order from this page and give us your frame details at checkout.
Can I cancel my order once it is placed?
Because Persol lenses are custom items ordered directly from Luxottica for your specific frame, orders cannot be cancelled once placed. All fittings and repairs are carried out at the customer’s own risk.
