Household screwdrivers are far too big for eyewear — the blade slips, rounds out the screw head and turns a ten-second fix into a workshop job. How to use it without stripping the screw
- Work over a light-coloured cloth — if the screw drops, you'll find it.
- Seat the tip fully into the screw head and keep the driver straight, not angled.
- Press down gently as you turn. Slow and firm beats fast and hard.
- Snug is enough — don't overtighten, or the hinge stiffens and the thread can strip.
- Re-check a newly tightened hinge after a week; screws settle as they bed in.

Will it fit my glasses?
Yes — it's a standard precision optical driver, sized for the screws used across spectacle and sunglass frames, whatever the brand. It isn't specific to Ray-Ban or any one make.
Which screws does it turn?
The small screws in eyewear: hinge screws that hold the temple arms on, nose-pad screws on metal frames, and rim screws on half-rim and rimless designs.
Do I need it if I've ordered replacement screws?
You'll need something to fit them with, and an ordinary screwdriver is too large — it slips and rounds out the head. If you don't already own a precision driver, order one with your screws.
Can you fit the screws for me instead?
We don't offer a standalone fitting service for a single screw, but if your frames are with us for any other repair we'll tighten and replace screws as part of that job.
