Genuine Oliver Peoples replacement lenses from Sunglasses UK
Genuine Oliver Peoples replacement lenses, cut specifically for the Gregory Peck Sun (OV5217S). The Gregory Peck is a round acetate frame from Oliver Peoples' Estate Collection, named after the actor and drawn from the style he wore in To Kill a Mockingbird. Lenses come as a matched pair with the correct Oliver Peoples etchings and a certificate of authenticity from Luxottica, with full UV protection as standard.
Which size Gregory Peck do you have?
The Gregory Peck Sun has been produced in two lens widths, 47mm and 50mm, and lenses are not interchangeable between them. Your size is printed on the inside of the left temple arm as two numbers — for example 50-20, meaning a 50mm lens width and a 20mm bridge. Read yours off the frame rather than assuming, as the same colourway has been offered in both sizes.
Finding your OV5217S colour code
Oliver Peoples colour codes are four digits, a slash, then two characters — 1485/W4 is a Gregory Peck colourway, for example. It is printed immediately after the model code on the inside of the left arm. The code determines the lens tint we supply, so we need it exactly as printed.
Choosing your lenses
Five options are available for the OV5217S:
- Non-polarised — matches the tint the frame was originally supplied with.
- Non-polarised with mirror — a standard tint with a reflective coating on the front surface.
- Polarised — cuts reflected glare from roads and water, the practical choice for driving.
- Polarised with graduated lens — fades from darker at the top to lighter at the bottom, which keeps a round frame from reading as heavy.
- Polarised with mirror — glare reduction plus a mirrored finish, bolder on the crystal and lighter acetates.
Fitting your lenses
Acetate frames are warmed before lenses are seated, so the rim flexes rather than splits. If you would rather not do that yourself, choose Sunglasses UK to fit and we will do it for an additional £10 — wait for the Royal Mail returns label we email you, then send the frame in. Otherwise choose Customer to fit and we will post the lenses to you or your optician.

What information do you need to order my lenses?
Three details, printed inside your frame’s left temple arm: the model code (e.g. OV5217S), the colour code (e.g. 1005/53) and the frame size, shown as two numbers such as 49-22. Add these to the Replacement Lens Details boxes when you order. If the engraving has worn away, email a photo of the inside arm to ben@sunglassesuk.com and we will identify it for you.
Can I fit the replacement lenses myself?
Yes. Choose “Customer to fit” and we will send the loose lenses for you, or a local optician, to fit. Prefer us to do it? Choose “Sunglasses UK to fit” (+£10) and we will email a Royal Mail returns label so you can send us the frame.
Does the frame need warming to fit the lenses?
Yes. Oliver Peoples frames are acetate, so the front is warmed before a lens is seated — that lets the rim flex rather than split. If you would rather not do that yourself, choose “Sunglasses UK to fit” and our workshop will handle it.
How long do replacement lenses take to arrive?
Lenses are made to order and usually take 5–10 working days to arrive from Italy. If we hold your lenses in stock they are dispatched the next working day, and any Next Day Delivery you have paid for applies from the moment they reach us.
Do the lenses come as a pair?
Yes — you receive two lenses, both with the correct Oliver Peoples etchings, plus a certificate of authenticity. Full UV protection is standard.
Which Oliver Peoples models can you supply lenses for?

Can I cancel my order once it is placed?
Because Oliver Peoples lenses are custom items ordered directly from Luxottica for your specific frame, orders cannot be cancelled once placed. All fittings and repairs are carried out at the customer’s own risk.
