When a pair of Prada sunglasses breaks, it's usually an arm. It snaps at the hinge, or it gets sat on and won't come back straight. After that it's a scratched lens, or a screw or nose pad that's gone missing.

None of those is a reason to buy a new pair. The front of the frame is the expensive bit, and it's usually fine. We can supply the genuine Prada replacement arm, lens or screw for 53 Prada models, and fit it for you if you'd rather not do it yourself.

Step one: find the model number on the arm

Open the sunglasses and look at the inside of the arms. One of them will have a line printed on it like this:

SPR 17W   1AB-5S0   49□20   140

SPR 17W is the model. You'll also see it written as PR 17WS, which is the same frame. Our product pages use both, so search either one.

1AB-5S0 is the colour code. The first three characters are the frame colour and the last three are the lens. We list it without the dash (1AB5S0), and most colours on our pages have a photo, so you can check it against your own pair.

The 49□20 is the lens and bridge size, and 140 is the arm length in millimetres. You don't need those to order, but they're useful if you're not sure which model you have.

If the print has rubbed off, take a photo of the inside of both arms and one of the front, and email them to us. We can usually tell from the shape.

Step two: pick the part

Go to our Prada replacement parts page and find your model. On each page you choose the part, then your colour code. We only list the colours Luxottica, who make Prada's eyewear, can still supply, so if your colour is there, we can get it.

Prices vary by model, because the parts cost different amounts from frame to frame:

  • Replacement arms (temples): £90 to £200 a pair. We have them for 43 of the 53 models.
  • Replacement lenses: £80 a pair for most models, up to £140 for the mirrored and gradient lenses on a few.
  • Prada case: £30.
  • Trims: £15.
  • Hinge screws, nose pads, pad screws and temple tips: £10.

Arms and lenses come as a pair. That's how Prada supplies them, and it means both sides match exactly.

Step three: fit it, or send it to us

On most models a replacement arm is held on by a single hinge screw, and most people manage it with a small screwdriver. Lenses are fiddlier. They have to sit in the frame at the right tension, and plastic frames often need warming before a new lens will go in.

If you'd rather we did it, choose "Sunglasses UK to fit" when you order. It's £10 more. We email you a prepaid Royal Mail label, you post the sunglasses to our workshop in Southport, and we fit the part, check the frame sits straight and post them back.

UK delivery is free, and so are returns if anything isn't right.

The Prada models people look for most

All of these have replacement arms and lenses available:

Are these real Prada parts?

Yes. We order every part through our Luxottica dealer account, the same place a Prada stockist gets them, so the arm or lens you receive is the original component, logo and all. We're a family business and have been repairing sunglasses since 1999. We don't sell copies.

What if my model isn't listed?

Some older Prada models are no longer made, and once Luxottica stops supplying a part we can't get it either. Send us a photo of the arm anyway and we'll check. If the part has gone, our sunglasses repair service can often straighten, re-screw or refit what you've got.
