Before you can order the right lenses or parts, you need one thing: your frame's model number. The good news is it's printed on the sunglasses themselves. Here's exactly where to look — and how to read what you find.

Where the number is

Open your sunglasses and look at the inside of the left or right temple arm — the part that rests over your ear. Printed there, usually in small white or gold lettering, you'll find a line that starts with RB followed by four digits, then a colour code and a size. It looks something like this:

RB3025   001/58   58☐14   135

How to read it

  • RB3025 — the model number (this one's the Aviator Large).
  • 001/58 — the colour and lens code (frame colour and lens finish).
  • 58☐14 — the lens width (58mm) and bridge width (14mm). The little square is the standard eyewear symbol for the bridge.
  • 135 — the temple-arm length in millimetres.

The two numbers that matter most for ordering lenses are the model (RB####) and the lens width — the same model is often made in two or three sizes, and the lenses aren't interchangeable.

What if the print has worn off?

On older or well-loved frames the lettering often rubs away. Don't worry — you have options:

  • Check the other arm; the print sometimes survives on one side.
  • Look for the model on the original case or receipt if you still have them.
  • Send us a clear photo of the frame and we'll identify it for you. We do this every day.

Found your RB number — or can't read it? Either way, send it over and we'll confirm exactly which lenses and parts your frame takes.

Identify my Ray-Bans

Is the model number the same as the serial number?

No. The model number (RB####) identifies the style; it isn't a unique serial. It's exactly what's needed to match parts.

My frames are very old — will parts still exist?

Often, yes. We can source genuine parts for many older models, or craft a close match where they've been discontinued. More on vintage frames here.

Where's the model number on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses?

Same place — etched inside the temple arm. The fitting differs from standard frames, so always confirm the model before ordering.
